Infrastructure & Utilities The Value Chain Value System Organisational Structure Key Performance Area     Towards Accelerated Service Delivery and Developmental Needs The Achievements of our Strategic Objectives was never going to be possible without the Commitment, dedication and meaningful contribution by the staff within the Directorate.  This report assess the performance of the Directorate against planned targets as set o the Service Delivery & Budget Implementation Plan (SDBIP) and the pre-determined objectives as outlined in the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) of the year 2007/2008 for the City of Matlosana. The first part of the report provides contextual background information including the Top Structure Organogram of the Municipality , brief description of responsibilities of each department within the Directorate and comprehensive reporting on Milestones archived during the Financial Year. -
- Information on the Directorate
The main objectives of this Directorate is to render quality services to the community within the City of Matlosana area of jurisdiction. Our values are informed by the Batho Pele (People First) principles of the South African Public Service and is focused on the following: - Dedication to development and service delivery within the Agenda 16 Context.
- Professionalism in conducting our business.
- Commitment to the well being of the City and its assets.
- Goal Orientated in conducting our duties.
1.4 Organisational Structure     The main of focus of the Directorate during this Financial Year was on the Bucket Eradication Programme where 11 500 buckets had to be replaced with a full Waterborne toilets system by end December 22007. An amount worth R85 Million was budgeted for this purpose. This project provided the community of the City of Matlosana with 997 temporary jobs during construction where approximately 11 200 buckets were eradicated. - Staff Turnover during the course of this Financial Year had an impact in operations of the Directorate as we experienced resignations of four (4) Senior Engineers within the City of Matlosana.
- The Position of Deputy Director: Civil Engineering was advertised twice and still remains vacant due salary not being attractive/ market related.
- The above mentioned challenges did not stop the Directorate from carrying its mandate within the City of Matlosana.
