Page 1 of 4 DIRECTORATE: MUNICIPAL AND SOCIAL SERVICES SUBDIRECTORATE: DEPARTMENT COMMUNITY SERVICES Overview This Department consists of the following divisions: Refuse Removal and cleansing, Parks, Cemeteries, Sports and Recreation, Libraries, Museum and Support and Administration. Vision The Department’s vision is to provide recreational and community services to all the residents of Greater Klerksdorp. This will be achieved by developing and maintenance of recreational facilities by establishing a user friendly, green, clean, neat and beautify city by developing and maintaining the cultural heritage of the city and to render a uniform cleansing service to all residents of the city. Mission The Department’s mission is to render the optimum standard of service delivery, which is accessible, effective and efficient to the whole community by using our resources and our budget efficiently, and cost effectively. ADMINISTRATION AND SUPPORT Overview The division is rendering a general support and corporate service while liaising with all internal sections, other departments and communicating with community members. This entails committee work, writing of items and reports, compilation and renewal of deeds of leases, advertisements and tenders. Goals Refuse Removal To render a uniform refuse removal service to all residential sites, business premises and industrial sites by removing the refuse generated and disposed of it at the landfill site. Overwiew of each sub-function Night Soil Removal Plans to improve service delivery Delete all and add “To assist in programs to eradicate all night soil buckets and replace with a waterborne sewerage system.”
