Matlosana Legacy Records is a hip and happening new Record Company visualized and dreamt of by the Matlosana community for many years and finally realized. The company aims to unearth exceptional talent, nurture it and provide platforms for artists to showcase their talents and market their music. “There is so much talent right here on our doorstep what is needed is to unearth and market that talent. Matlosana legacy Record had been commissioned for exactly that purpose”  Says Divisional Head Marketing of the City of Matlosana – Sandy Botha who has being looking for a vehicle to promote and market the local talent we have in the City of people on the move! The first group Kollixion that was taken under the wing of Matlosana Legacy Records have just been selected out of many hopefuls all over South Africa as one of the top ten groups who have entered the KFC – TUT Stereo FM competition! They were judged on their song writing skills aswell as marketability. This is a great achievement for the group and an even bigger opportunity for them as they will perform in further rounds of the competition in Pretoria where they will hold Matlosanas name high. Kollixion have also passed the Anglogold Aardklop auditions recently and look forward to possibilities of performing at Aardklop this year. Kollixion are also the official group that were selected to record the 2010 world cup song for the  City of Matlosana welcoming everyone to the Matlosana community. Look out for this group who will also be launching their first cd soon! There first CD recording and marketing campaign have been sponsored by the City of Matlosana. You can expect to hear more success stories soon! Another project that the record company has got well under way is the compilation of a cd called The Matlosana Legacy Sessions that features the cream of what the Matlosana community has to offer as far as talent is concerned. We are very excited about this initiative and believe it to be a great start and the first step in showcasing the cities talent. You can be sure to expect more of these compilations in the future each with different themes and genres. Matlosana Legacy Records will also showcase some of its artists this year at two opportunies during Aardklop. One at a designated area where the cities artists will be able to interact with the public and sell their cd’s and merchandise. The other is also a very exciting opportunity as we have teamed up with the official Jazz festival at Sedgars Stadium where Matlosana Legacy artists will be able to perform. Our team consists of young fresh minded individuals who are well aware of market trends, have years of experience working hands on in the music industry building relationships as well as an innovative and powerful marketing team at our fingertips. What separates us from your conventional record company is not only the fact that we approach things differently but the fact that we are a company not bound by race, creed, colour, culture or genre. We have access to some of the best production houses in the southern hemisphere. - Recording facility equipped with some of the industries best gear and built from the ground up with sound and acoustics in mind.
